"A mighty fortress overlooking the forest below"
Redwood Stronghold is a large location in the land of Vesteria, accessible through the Great Crossroads. In the lower parts of the mountain lie a swamp with bandit outposts, rivers, and lilypads. In the middle parts of the mountain lie an autumn-themed forest, coated in trees with red, orange, and light green leaves, that slowly progresses into a winter-themed mountain, with thick snow and ice surrounding the pathways, until eventually reaching the impregnable fortress of the Warriors. It was formerly split into two locations, those being Redwood Pass and Warrior Stronghold.
Overview[]
Redwood Stronghold is where the Faction Base of the Warriors lies, placed atop a large and snowy mountain. Upon reaching Level 10, players are able to join the Warrior faction and at Level 30 join the Sub-factions as well. The Stronghold overlooks the great forest of Redwood. The path to the faction base is long and grueling so it is recommended to head straight up the mountains.
This area also contains the arena for The Yeti, Mama Bear, and Redwood Bandit Leader.
Sublocations[]
Warrior Stronghold[]
The Warrior Stronghold is the impregnable fortification of the mighty Warrior faction. Standing above the snowy mountains of Redwood, lies two statues displaying the pride and honor of the faction.
Warrior Camp[]
The Warrior Camp is located about halfway up the hike to the top. Warrior banners are hung everywhere upon entering the camp and small tent-like camps are set up around the vicinity. One of the Warriors is in charge of the catapult, and the Catapult Mechanic quest is initiated here. If you are at least Level 12 and approach the camp, a short cutscene will play where Private Larry attempts to operate a malfunctioning catapult. The Private will then be flung into a tree and the catapult breaks, you can then talk to the Captain Bronzeheart to initiate the quest.
Redwood Summit[]
Redwood Summit is the tall mountain and the highest point of the map. If you climb the mountain you will find a small camp in a small cave. You can find three beds, a campfire and a Golden Chest; as well as a mysterious man inside it. If you keep climbing you will eventually find a skeleton very near the summit on a minuscule plateau. In the hands of this skeleton, there is a flag as well as a book.
You can pick up the flag and read the book. It reads: "At long last, I'm moments away from the summit. They told me I'd never make it, that I'd die up here. Whos [sic] laughing now mom? I'm about to be the first Vesterian to conquer the Redwood Mountain. Just a few more steps..." It is unknown as to how the hiker passed away, but most likely from the environment. There is also a mysterious 'Pick up' text at the very top of the mountain. Though, upon interacting with it a private chat message gets sent to you pertaining the words: "You probably shouldn't take that."
Yeti Cave[]
The Yeti Cave is located in the upper half portion of the mountain. Somewhere along the path, there will be a large opening in the ice walls, leading to some broken settlements. As you head further in, the cave encloses around an area with a concerning amount of bones. This sublocation is home to where The Yeti spawns.
In a secret dugout hole towards the left of the cave, players can find a skeleton and a book. The text shown by the book reads: "I'm alive! The yeti wasn't able to reach me inside this hole and eventually gave up trying. Now I just have to wait for him to let his guard down... maybe I'll take a nap to pass the time..."
Sid's Igloo[]
Sid's Igloo is a sublocation that is located in the snowy, mountainous regions of Redwood Pass. Along the main trail, the player may notice an igloo-shaped building with a hole leading to a small campfire place inside. Players can visit this sublocation to receive the Mountain Patrol quest from Sid.
Mouth of the World[]
A location right near Redwood Summit, where possibly manually excavated holes form a giant, smiling face.
Swamp[]
The Swamp biome is the region in the lower parts of the mountain. A Redwood Bandit outpost can be found here and the arena where the Redwood Bandit Leader spawns is in the tower. Several rivers can also be found with lilypads that can be bounced off of.
