Overview[]

Scrolls are a unique type of Consumable that can modify the stats of Weapons and some Equipment. There are different types of scrolls, each with their own effects and quirks. There are only three upgrading scrolls that are guaranteed to work: the Basic Weapon ATK Scroll, Basic Armor DEF Scroll and Basic Headgear DEF Scroll. All other upgrading scrolls have a chance of failure; however, they can also give significantly better upgrades if they succeed. Each scroll used will take up an upgrade attempt on the scrolled equipment, including failed scrolls. New scrolls have been added, and more are coming with the release of The Badlands.

Stat Upgrades and the Item Tiering System[]

Tiers of certain equipment can be changed through the use of Scrolls. Upon a scroll success, as well as providing buffs to the item it was applied on, "upgrade points" will also be assigned to the item depending the specific stats that the scroll increased. Note that an item tier has no use other than estimating how strong the item is. All upgrades are listed below (in estimated order of rarity), with conversion examples:

The Information with '' _ '' is outdated:

  • ATK and DEF are each worth exactly 1 upgrade point [+5 ATK = 5 upgrade points]
  • STR, VIT, INT and DEX are each worth 0.5 upgrade points per singular stat (Except for headgear which give 1 point per singular stat) [+3 STR = 1.5 upgrade points]
  • Max HP and Max MP buffs are worth 1 upgrade points per 20 HP/MP [+20 Max HP = 1 upgrade points]
  • HP Regen and MP Regen does not affect an item's upgrade points [+10% HP Regen = 0 upgrade points]
  • Critical Chance and Block Chance buffs add +0.5 upgrade points to the item for every 1% added [+5% Critical Chance = 2.5 upgrade points]
  • 1 point of Stamina and Walkspeed is worth 2 upgrade points [+1 Stamina = 2 upgrade points]
  • XP% Boosts, HP/MP Recovery does not affect to upgrade points [+5% XP = 0 upgrade points] *Some of these upgrades are only available through the use of Cursed ATK or Cursed DEF Scrolls. Additionally, note that ALL of these stat buffs (except Crit Chance or Block Chance) can come in both positive or negative values with the use of Cursed Scrolls (although positive values are a lot more common). Negative values = negative upgrade points. View the individual Cursed Scroll pages to see which scroll can give which upgrades.
  • Item attributes (AKA Variants or Modifiers), such as Dull, Keen, Pristine or Legendary DO NOT count towards an item's upgrade points.

Here is a spreadsheet that will allow you to input your item's stats, and view how close you are to reaching the next tier:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hmYTq5nVAUxmfwwlsBg5FxCGdHqj5vcXVF9lcbboQSg/edit
